Easynet Connect Launches in support
of Small and Medium Enterprises

January 6, 2008

Easynet Connect, a newly created unit within Easynet launches today to focus on providing quality connectivity and internet communications for small and medium size businesses.

Bringing together ten years experience and heritage in the business market, access to the second largest network in the UK and an innovative portfolio of LLU services backed up by an experienced 24x7 UK based support centre, Easynet Connect is well placed to address the needs of SMEs across the UK.

One of its leading products is EtherStream™, a pioneering Ethernet service with a fast and reliable method of transmitting critical high volume traffic, with dedicated high speed connections currently up to 20 Mbps. Provided over copper, EtherStream™ breaks through the limitations of traditional fibre connectivity and is a revolutionary way to offer high bandwidth Internet access. Easynet Connect customers will benefit from parent company Sky’s investment in the UK local loop unbundling (LLU) programme which covers over 70% of the UK’s SMEs. Easynet Connect’s SDSL service also has greater coverage than BT’s product.

Chris Stening, managing director of Easynet Connect explains: "Smaller businesses may have less complex IT requirements than larger corporations, but fast reliable internet connectivity and access to the right level of support is absolutely critical for them. At Easynet Connect we have the experience, network reach and capabilities in place, so rather than waste valuable time sorting out IT issues and problems they can concentrate on running their business."

"When working on several building projects at any one time throughout the UK, you do get IT issues which is why having fast effective support is like business insurance - you have to have it. Easynet Connect’s Technical Support is in a different league – first, you get through to someone within five rings of the phone which is unheard of - but more importantly, when you get through issues are fixed within a reasonable time frame," said Robert Dickie, ICT Manager, at the McKean Group.

Sandra O'Boyle, Research Director at Current Analysis, says: "For customers, it could be a bonus to be part of a specialized SME division, Easynet Connect, that will focus only on the needs of smaller businesses. Easynet has a long history as a service provider to SMEs and places the importance of customer satisfaction at the core of its operational model. Customers should see little change initially other than the new logo Easynet Connect."

Larger international and global customers will continue to be managed under the Easynet brand.
